We are MLDG
The Melbourne Line Dancing Group has been active for many years. We are a not-for-profit volunteer run group of women, mainly (but not exclusively) of Chinese heritage. We seek to introduce and share Chinese Arts to the public. Each Thursday we hold open dance and exercise sessions at The Atrium in Federation Square. Our regular sessions provide connectivity and greatly improve mental and physical well-being among participants. Volunteer instructors generously share their time and skills teaching traditional and contemporary dances. Some members of the group choose to participate in performances celebrating significant cultural days and events. These are an opportunity to show-case members hard work and effort. Wearing appropriate costumes, hair, make-up, we present the beautiful colour, sound and movement of dance: the joy of life.
